And whilst we are on the subject of famous gourmets: in the Kronenhalle (Rämistraße 4), stars such as Pablo Picasso, Yves Saint Laurent and James Joyce have feasted here. If you fancy a sweet treat strolling down Bahnhofstrasse, you would be hard pressed to find anywhere nicer or more stylish than Confiserie Sprüngli (Bahnhofstraße 21).
Fashion victims with exquisite taste should definitely stop off at Fidelio (Münzplatz 1). Famous brands and exclusive creations are, without doubt, not exactly a scarce commodity in Zurich, and Fidelio is one of the best addresses around when it comes to fashion.
Although the street from the main station to Lake Zurich via Bahnhofstrasse is only 1.4 km long, it could take you hours to walk down it, since boutiques, cafés, bookshops and electrical shops rub shoulders with snack bars.
A lot healthier for your holiday budget is Lux Plus (Ankerstraße 24). In this second-hand shop, discover affordable vintage clothes and shoes: attention is paid to exclusivity, and the love of detail is evident.
